Looking for coffee, lunch, cakes and snacks?
We're now open six days of the week.
Old has become new and the Wangaratta railway station precinct came alive again when Café Dérailleur opened.
The quirky former “Railway Café” that was built in 1947 to service the growing demand from rail passengers in post-war Wangaratta has been given a new lease of life with the establishment of an espresso bar in the ground floor of the building. Cafe Derailleur has evolved from its modest beginnings into a humming café producing breakfast, lunches and snacks to a loyal local following.
The small and unique café serves a direct trade coffee blend from Coffee Supreme, using beans sourced from Brazil. The Boxer blend provides a great base for non-milk coffees. It produces a smooth black coffee with cocoa notes. Our third grinder allows us to grind decaf to order, to give those who need a caffeine-free option a beautifully crafted coffee without sacrificing flavour.

Reservations can be made for breakfast and lunch at Café Derailleur by phoning the Café on 03 5722 9589. For a booking of seven people or more we will seat you in our courtyard as a first option as we have found that this area is more conducive to larger groups.
Bookings of ten or more people for lunch (11:30am - 2.30pmpm) will need to order from the lunch menu only. This is to ensure your group receive their meals in a timely manner. If your table is short for time we recommend that you pre-order.
When making a booking we require a contact phone number so we can contact you if you are running late. Bookings that are more than fifteen minutes late and cannot be contacted will be cancelled, so please keep us informed of you arrival time.
